Legacy Engineering provided the geotechnical exploration and the materials testing and consulting services for the renovation and reconstruction of the Cowford Chophouse in downtown Jacksonville. The Cowford Chophouse is a 110+ year old structural brick structure located at the corner of Adams and Ocean Streets that was once used as a bank as well as other uses. The deteriorating and settling structure was underpinned with piling and reconstructed with an interior structural steel frame to support a 3-level restaurant that includes dining and a bar on all 3 levels, including the roof. Additional piling and interior foundations were included to support the new parts of the structure.
